Description:

Caldwell County, Texas is located in the South Central Zone of the Texas State Plane Coordinate System and is in the overlap zone with the Central Zone. All data received from CAPCO and various State Agencies are projected on the Central Zone NAD83. WE HAVE NOW PROJECTED ALL MAPS TO THE CENTRAL ZONE NAD83. The original maps created by this Appraisal District were hand drafted, based US Geological Survey maps with the South Central Zone projection NAD27, ACS 1989 aerial photography, and other available sources. There were 119 maps sheets at a scale of 1in=660ft with 11 detail maps of the rural communities, 13 detail maps of the City of Lockhart, and 10 details maps of the City of Luling, all at a scale of 1in=200ft. These maps were digitized using ESRI ArcInfo coverage files, starting in 1994 and completed in 1998. Much additional data and many special map coverages were added to the coverages during this process. Individual map coverage files were edge matched and combined to provide 4 major coverage files; East and West of Highway 183, and the cities of Lockhart and Luling. In 1999 all coverages were projected to the South Central Zone NAD 83.

We are continually modifing and correcting parcel boundaries as we perform deed research, get new subdivision plats, new surveys, and new parcel splits.

The standard fields are as follows:

ADJUST= Indicates how the parcel was created.

NONEindicates this was digitized from the old hand drawn map and may not match aerials.

PHOTOindicates this parcel was visually matched to fence lines on the aerial and may or may not be the deeded boundary.

DEEDindicates that this parcel was drawn with COGO and rotated to match the aerial.

PLAT or SURVEY indicates this parcel was drawn to match a survey plat or subdivision plat.

PROPID= This is the Property ID number that matches the appraisal district inditification number. This field is numerical only.
